Caring for your Okooko mattress

Adjusting to Your New Mattress

There is a settling-in period with any new mattress. Individual cases can vary from a few days to a couple of months. You may experience some back pain during this time as your spine realigns to its natural position.

Body Moulding

Okooko mattresses have a luxurious quilted comfort layer on top of the mattress. You will find over time that this will compress to some degree. This is a normal characteristic of premium bedding and merely indicates that the comfort layers are conforming naturally to your body shape and is not regarded as a manufacturing fault. Monthly rotation from end to end (please do not turn over single sided mattresses) will help to minimise these impressions and prolong the life of your Okooko mattress.

Mould and Mildew

Whilst all Okooko mattresses have anti-mould inhibitor, depending on the environment mattresses can occasionally develop mould / mildew on them. This is not considered a manufacturing fault. For optimum hygiene ensure your bedroom is well ventilated and dry.

General

  • Never fold or bend your Bodyfit pocket spring mattress (Bodyfit Active range). Only solid core latex mattresses (Bodyfit Energise range) may be folded.
  • Regularly rotate your mattress from end to end to maximise its life (our mattresses are single sided - please do not turn them over).
  • Keep your Bodyfit mattress clean and dry by using a quality, washable, mattress protector.
  • Do not allow anyone to stand or jump on your mattress.
  • For optimum sleep we recommend the use of a Bodyfit natural latex pillow.

Overlay Care

  • Air mattress overlays regularly to maintain loft and resilience. We recommend airing overlays on a sunny day over a clothes line or drying frame.
  • Always use a quality mattress protector to keep your mattress and overlay clean and dry.
  • 500gm and 1000gm Wool Bodyfit Overlays are drycleanable
  • Please do not spot clean your Bodyfit overlay
